Orbitty

A small habitat for your work, on your Mac.

Your projects are planets. The windows and tabs you're working in live on them as little walkers. At the top of it all is Stars, a quiet place to check in with yourself.

Alpha is coming. No date yet.

Planets hold your work

Make a planet for each thing you're working on.

Then claim things onto it: a window, or a single Brave or Chrome tab. (We call the tab part Tabbity.) Each thing you claim shows up as a little walker on that planet.

Nothing shows up unless you claim it. What you see is what you chose.

The board lives in the rail

Click a planet and its Kanban board opens right off the rail. Your todos sit next to the work they belong to.

Stars

Stars sits at the top of the rail. It's the part of Orbitty that's about you, not your tasks.

  • A daily check-in
  • Wins
  • Things you're grateful for
  • A journal
  • Trackers
  • Reflection

It's there when you want it.

The spirit

Orbitty has a companion. It's a spirit, with no face. It works like a launcher you call up with a keystroke: type what you want and it gets you there.

It can hand things off to Goose, Grok or Hermes, or just do it directly. It's helpful. It isn't the main event. The habitat is.

Your first few minutes

The alpha starts you off with a short story instead of a manual.

  1. Claim a walker. Your first window or tab lands on a planet.
  2. Read the starter todos. They're on the board, and each one teaches a piece of the system.
  3. Build an outpost. Click an area on the planet. Your walker walks over, and the outpost appears.
  4. Meet the spirit. A short chat introduces the companion and shows you Stars.

Stays on your Mac

Orbitty is local-first. Through alpha, it makes no network calls. Your planets, boards and Stars entries stay on your machine.
